The Call To Unite- HH Sheikha Intisar AlSabah reminded the world that “kindness and support are the most needed” in times of a global pandemic and crisis. Calling for compassion and unity in the ongoing fight of coronavirus.
Millions of people around the world stood together in one common purpose. One of the world’s biggest digital event that connected 200 global leaders, politicians, authors, front line heroes, humanitarian activists, musicians, entertainers, and motivational speakers answered the call to support, empower, and help others who needs it through direct action and giving. The Call To Unite event united 7.59 billion neighbors sharing one message of hope and solidarity to rise and adapt to the challenges of stress and anxiety of Covid-19.
“The world is going through one of the most challenging times ever. Fears are coming up. Life is not the same. At these times we need support more than ever. We need kindness to give kindness,” said HH Sheikha Intisar AlSabah. “Our core mission is to always support our 1 million Arab women by empowering them through the use of the therapeutic approach of Drama Therapy. We are adapting to the challenges of technology in supporting our women virtually and empowering them.” The messages were both universal and personal on May 2nd, as the Call to Unite Livestream, a 24-hour event, stretched its global unity of hope and humanity to one another.
President Bill Clinton and Oprah Winfrey were among those who participated in this global digital experience, among HH Sheikha Intisar AlSabah, Quincy Jones, Deepak Chopra, Julia Roberts, and Maria Shriver were also participating in the event, being live-streamed at unite.us on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
“Let’s start really connecting with our emotions, acknowledging them, and letting go. Because only then we can have peace. And only when we can have peace, can the world be in peace,” said HH Sheikha Intisar AlSabah. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the world has been shaking to an increase in depression and anxiety rates. Sheikha focused her attention more on positive “acts of valor”. Her message inspired people to do more, to connect with themselves, to help each other in times of uncertainties and fears.
Even at social distancing, we are able to find ways to connect virtually with others and ease their anxiety and share their burdens. As Intisar Foundation, our work in the field has shifted to a virtual act of peace online, we will always be in act of supporting and empowering our 1 million Arab women digitally to spread peace in the Arab world through the use of Drama Therapy.
While the pandemic has temporarily affected the lives of many remember that “kindness is an essential powerful tool of public recovery” and that the world is a union of gathered and connected hope of kindness and humanity.
