Intisar Foundation’s short documentary about the positive impact of providing psychological support to Arab women affected by war and violence – “I Will Be Fine” – has been selected by three prestigious international film festivals in 2021.
The “I Will Be Fine” documentary is a fourteen-minute-long film that documents the stories of 18 Arab women experiencing a drama therapy programme by Intisar Foundation at Shatila Refugee Camp in Beirut, Lebanon.
It has been selected for the Lebanese Short Film Competition category of the Beirut International Women Film Festival (BWFF), an annual event organized in the Beirut Film Society under the theme “Women for Change”. The fourth edition of the BWFF will take place from July 18 to 23, 2021.
From July 25-30, 2021, Intisar Foundation’s “ I Will Be Fine” documentary will be presented to the audience of the Around International Film Festival (ARFF) x SDGS Online Festival within its International Awards In The Best Short Film Category.
In addition, the documentary will be screened in the Feature Length Films in the Narrative, Documentary, Animation Category at the ARTS x SDGS Online Festival. Founded and curated by Emmy-winning filmmaker and Create2030 founder Lisa Russell, the festival will be held on October 20-26,2021.
Officially registered as a humanitarian organisation with the Charity Commission for England and Wales in 2019, Intisar Foundation is the first charitable organisation in the Middle East dedicated to providing psychological support programmes of drama therapy to Arab women affected by the brutality of war and violence.
