Born in 1964 in Syria, Ahmad Kaddour graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus in 1985. Following that he completed his studies at Ecole nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts (ENSBA) in Paris in 1995 and then at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, USA. He then continued his artistic work for several years following different methods such as painting, drawing, screen printing, and video. In 1994, with the help of ENSBA, he published his first book entitled ‘Seattle’ published by Alternatives Publishing. In 1998, Ahmad published his second book entitled ‘Quelques Heures, Quelques Hivers’ published by Alternativeand in 2000 his third book ‘Si C’etait A Refaire’ published by Artist Book.
Ahmad Kaddour has exhibited his work internationally, most recently in 2016 at the BOA Art Gallery in Beverly Hills, Calif., USA, while teaching workshops in Paris since 2008. As a teacher of serigraphy (screen printing), he likes to call it “syrigraphy”.
Officially registered as a humanitarian organisation with the Charity Commission for England and Wales in 2019, Intisar Foundation is the first charitable organisation in the Middle East dedicated to providing psychological support programmes of drama therapy to Arab women affected by the brutality of war and violence.
