Fareed Abdal is a Kuwaiti architect, artist and educator interested in the material and spiritual development of the Arab world. He holds both a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (1980) and a Master of Architecture (1983) from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Between 1989 and 2005 he led a private practice under the name, Fareed Abdal Architects & Consultants. In 2005 he joined the faculty of Kuwait University’s College of Architecture, where he continues teaching today. For Fareed Abdal, the role of aesthetics in reinstalling sensibility in the Middle East is critical. In analyzing the current situation, he shares the following thoughts.
Officially registered as a humanitarian organisation with the Charity Commission for England and Wales in 2019, Intisar Foundation is the first charitable organisation in the Middle East dedicated to providing psychological support programmes of drama therapy to Arab women affected by the brutality of war and violence.
