Intisar Foundation has launched two fundraising campaigns – on Go Fund Me and Global Giving platforms – to support its efforts in providing psychological support through drama therapy to Arab women traumatised by war and violence.
Aiming to raise €40,000 through two campaigns, Intisar Foundation will use the funds to reach its One Million Arab Women For Peace goal, an initiative aimed at enabling one million Arab women suffering from war and/or violence trauma to reach the state of self-empowerment by 2050.

Women affected by war are often exposed to mental health stigma or a lack of adequate psychological support that prevents them from overcoming these traumatic experiences. Furthermore, the UN Women states that refugee or internally displaced women often live in congested shelters with no privacy or lights which makes them more vulnerable to experiencing violence.
At the same time, women in the Arab world have an essential role in societal change as mothers, educators, and caregivers. The more mental health support these women receive, the safer they will feel in their societies and feel empowered to rebuild their lives.
By delivering kind, effective, and non-stigmatising therapy, Intisar Foundation aims to close this gap. Drama therapy is a type of creative arts therapy that offers a culturally informed and socially acceptable treatment procedure in Arab societies.
