JORDAN: Her royal highness princess Dina Mired attended the final ceremony of women affected by war in Jordan with the Founder of Intisar Foundation, HH Sheikha Intisar AlSabah, and the CEO Karima Anbar. The final ceremony included two groups of 35 empowering women becoming the dividends of peacemakers in the Arab world.
“I had the mere pleasure of attending the session and seeing women grow in resiliency and courage. Thank you to my friend HH Sheikha Intisar AlSabah for spreading peace in the Arab world,” said HRH Princess Dina Mired.
HH Sheikha Intisar AlSabah, the founder of Intisar Foundation shared her gratefulness of celebrating Arab women grow in love and peace. “I used to feel that I am no one, now I feel like I am standing on a high mountain where my voice is heard, and I want everyone to see me and see that I am someone,” said one of our 1 million Arab women.
The “Intensive program” of Drama Therapy focuses on exploring and healing trauma, building a sense of community, and empowering Arab women. Our programs have proven to be effective in alleviating the psychological distress of war. 93% of our participants experienced a reduction in depression rates, 75% experienced a reduction in anxiety, and 63% experienced a reduction in PTSD rates.
“I felt like something was cleansing me from within, I hurt a lot, I cried a lot, but I also grew a lot,” said one of our 1 million Arab women.
Officially registered as a humanitarian organisation with the Charity Commission for England and Wales in 2019, Intisar Foundation is the first charitable organisation in the Middle East dedicated to providing psychological support programmes of drama therapy to Arab women affected by the brutality of war and violence.
